Robbert Maarsen and Julia de Jong have been designing and realising interiors since 2007. Not as two separate disciplines, but as one process. Robbert knows the trade from material to logistics. Julia combines design insight with project oversight. Together they do what most studios don't: the full trajectory, from first sketch to last detail.
A beautiful image isn't enough. Design and realisation are one process: a plan that doesn't account for execution isn't a plan. Without that overview, you make decisions you can't undo later. And that overview only comes when design and realisation are in the same hands from the start.

We invite you to our studio in Bennebroek. Here you tell us about your wishes, how you live, what inspires you. Our studio immediately shows who we are and at what level we work. We discuss the possibilities for your project and how we can work together. After this conversation, you’ll receive a detailed quote within one week.
We develop a complete interior design: floor plans, 3D visualisations, lighting design, color, product and material plans, mood boards. In our studio you can see and feel products and materials: fabrics, wood, stone, metal. Multiple design sessions ensure the design is exactly right. Each project receives a custom approach: we don’t use ready-made templates.
We manage the execution of your project and take as much off your plate as possible: coordinating tradespeople, sourcing furniture, arranging storage and overseeing installation. To do this, we work with a trusted network of specialists: interior builders, bathroom suppliers, floor layers, painters and upholsterers.

During the introductory meeting, we talk through your situation, your wishes and the scope of the interior design project. From there, we draw up a fixed quote that matches the level of involvement required.
In practical terms: a plan that lets you prepare your renovation properly, brief contractors and suppliers with confidence, and avoid the kind of mistakes you can't undo. But the real value is in what doesn't go wrong. Poor purchases, a layout that doesn't work, a decision you're still regretting three years later. A good design saves you from all of that, and that saving tends to outweigh the cost of the process.
Every project moves through three phases: design, preparation and realisation, always in that order. The design determines what gets prepared. The preparation determines what gets built. Reverse that sequence and you're making decisions without a foundation, and you'll only notice that afterwards. How much Choc Studio handles in each phase is agreed after the initial meeting and set out in a fixed quote.
Yes, we're bilingual. All communication, presentations, and documentation can be in English or Dutch, whatever you prefer.

We can also handle the purchasing completely: we select products, request quotes, coordinate delivery times, arrange storage and transport, and ensure placement and styling.
