Interior design in the Haarlem area: a stylish city home
Choc Studio redesigned the ground floor of a charming city home in Haarlem. At the rear, an extension was added to create space for an Italian kitchen with a cooking island. This design was developed in collaboration with Dutch Kitchen Design.
The question: how do you turn a compact city home into a stylish yet practical living space?
The owners wanted more space and comfort without losing the home’s charm. How do you design a modern interior where kitchen, dining and living areas complement each other, yet each has its own character?
The solution: spaciousness through smart layout
Choc Studio created a floor plan where functions are clearly defined but visually connected. A bio-ethanol fireplace by Planika Fires acts as a room divider between living and dining areas, adding a sense of warmth. A light herringbone floor and black window frames give the interior a luxurious and contemporary feel.
The result: a city home with warmth and luxury
The entrance feels fresh and inviting with bird-patterned wallpaper and glossy white panelling. The living room features furniture from Meridiani, Vibieffe and Marac. Walls are finished with paint by Little Greene and wallpaper by Arte. Fabrics by Romo, Casamance and Zinc add softness, while lighting by Moooi, Contardi, Tom Dixon and Modular completes the modern atmosphere.
This project was published in Stijlvol Wonen (December 2018).
