From plain living room to powerful interior
The restyling of this city home in Haarlem created a complete transformation. The living room and dining kitchen felt too flat for the owners. They missed a sense of tension but couldn’t achieve it themselves. Choc Studio designed a plan in which a black oak ensuite with steel doors and gold wallpaper completely changed the atmosphere. These elements instantly gave the interior strength and drama.
The question: how do you turn a flat interior into a home with strength and character?
The owners wanted a home with more presence and atmosphere. How do you transform an everyday space into an interior full of energy and personality, while keeping it functional?
The solution: bold choices and clear lines
Choc Studio opted for bold gestures: a black oak ensuite with steel doors that divides and connects the spaces, and gold wallpaper as a striking accent. Together, these elements created tension and dynamism. The design was visualized in 3D so the owners could clearly see the final result. This gave them the confidence to fully realize the plan.
The result: a city home with character
The home is furnished with pieces from Meridiani, Pilat & Pilat, Arco and Pure Choc. Finishes include paint by Little Greene and gold wallpaper by Arte. Lighting from Moooi, Lee Broom, Modular and Nautiek completes the atmosphere.
This project was published in Stijlvol Wonen (December 2018).
