Classic villa with a modern extension
The owners of a classic villa in the Haarlem area added a modern extension to create more space. This allowed for a generous kitchen and a comfortable home office. Their request to Choc Studio: how do you merge classic architecture with contemporary style into a coherent interior?
The question: how do you combine classic and modern in one villa?
The owners wanted the contrast between old and new to be visible, but balanced. How do you turn a villa with a modern extension into one stylish, liveable home?
The solution: balance between tradition and contemporary living
Choc Studio designed an interior plan where classic details meet modern design. The living and dining rooms were given a new interior, warm wall colours and a herringbone oak floor. Bronze-coloured interior doors emphasise luxury and connect the old and new parts of the villa.
The result: a villa full of character
The new spaces were furnished with pieces from Marac, Prades and Pure Choc. Fabrics by Kirkby Design and Silvera add texture. A bio-ethanol fireplace by Planika Fires adds warmth with a modern touch. Lighting by Tom Dixon, Nemo and Contardi balances atmosphere and function. In the Italian kitchen by Cesar Cucine, custom wallpaper by Glamora draws attention – waterproof and visually striking.
